Quick Stop Tea Review
WornFlower teahouse
WornFlower offers just two items, matcha and hojicha, I tried both yesterday.
For those that don't know, hojicha is made from roasted green tea leaves and is then ground into a fine powder just like matcha powder. Hojicha has less caffeine than matcha and can look almost like coffee at first glance.
As simple as both drinks were, they had complex flavor profiles.
The matcha was bright and floral with no bitterness or grassy flavor. WornFlower serves their matcha with honey and cardamom, I might ask to leave off the cardamom the next time I order. It adds a nice earthiness that rounds out the drink but takes away from the brighter flavors I prefer.
As for the hojicha, it was smooth, nutty, and almost black tea-like. The tea was served with honey, like the matcha, but spiced with cinnamon instead. I liked this pairing more and preferred the hojicha overall.
I highly recommend WornFlower and would make a Quick Stop again!
